Event Details

Research and learn about a lesser-known female figure in history: Take a few minutes out of your day to research and learn about a woman who made significant contributions to history, but is not as widely known as some of the more famous figures. For example, you could read about Dr. Mae Jemison, the first Black woman astronaut, or Ada Lovelace, a pioneering computer programmer from the 19th century. By learning about these lesser-known figures, you can expand your understanding of women’s contributions to history and help to bring their stories to a wider audience.

Here are some more samples

  2. Amelia Boynton Robinson – Robinson was at the forefront of the civil rights movement in Georgia and Alabama.
  3. Junko Tabei – In 1975, Tabei became the first woman to summit Mount Everest. On top of that, she was also the first woman to complete the “Seven Summits,” climbing the tallest mountain on each continent.
